Applying Spiritual AIM with Pediatric Cancer Patients and Families

Happy to share this new article which is the first published application of Spiritual AIM in pediatrics! This was an exciting collaboration with ACPE: The Standard for Spiritual Care & Education clinical pastoral education colleagues at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. It is also a case example of how chaplains can participate in research and contribute to the evidence-base to improve care to patients. This article started off as a CPE verbatim written by William Sheldon, and with the encouragement of his CPE Educator Mychal Springer and department Director Joel Berning, it evolved into this novel contribution to whole-person care for children with serious illness and their families. So grateful to these co-authors; it was such a treat to create something together from across the country.
